Which patients can be referred

There will be visiting Swiss/Australian hand surgery teams to National Referral Hospital in 10 th to 18 th June 2023. National referral will be receiving the services of experienced and well qualified hand surgeons. We are inviting patients for booking. The clinic consultations and treatments offered are free of any charges.

Hand surgery is a broad term that covers many different types of procedures. Hand surgeons who perform hand surgery seek to restore hand and finger function. Also hand surgeons also try to make the hand look as normal as possible, as well. Hand reconstructive surgery may be done for many reasons, including:

  • Recent hand or wrist trauma (soft tissue or bony)

  • Tumors (soft tissue or bony)

  • Nerve compressions (including carpal tunnel)

  • Dupuytren’s disease

  • Osteoarthritis, e.g base of thumb

  • Rheumatoid arthritis

  • Trigger finger/thumb

  • Ganglia

  • Post-traumatic reconstruction

  • Wrist pain

  • Tenosynovitis, e.g. De Quervain’s syndrome

  • Congenital hand anomalies (polydactyle, athrogryposis)
